Metropolitan Bridal Expo Workshops

During the Bridal Expo Sunday, August 23rd, we will be hosting workshops given by some of the industry's leading merhcants.

Join us at 1:00 for tips from Ryan Tiller of Wellington Place. Ryan will be sharing insider reception location suggestions, ideas and more. Then at 2:00 Beth of Beth's Photography will be sharing pointers for how to get the best from your photos.

All workshops are free of charge with show admission. We look forward to seeing you there!

IT'S HERE!

We hope you are as excited as we are that the new issue of Metropolitan Bride is here. The Summer 2009 magazine should be on shelves as of tonight! The magazine is moments away from jumping off the shelves and into your wedding planning hands. Take a look behind the scenes as we watch the magazine take shape. They are coming off the press at Colorgraphics Printing as I type this blog. Thanks Troy for making it all happen! We are totally on the edge of our seats waiting for the final product to come in. Look for the Summer 2009 Metropolitan Bride Magazine to hit shelves at Barnes and Noble sometime next week,and other stores within three weeks, you won't be disappointed.

Field Trip!

Yesterday the Metropolitan Bride girls had the honor of joining Camp Barnabas for their evening schedule as "Party People". We arrived late in the afternoon and received a first class tour of the camp. We all hopped on a golf cart and wheeled around the camp. What a history! In 2005 Extreme Makeover Home Edition did an amazing job of updating the summer home away from home for these hundreds of campers. How proud Camp Barnabas should be to have such an amazing ministry.

For those of you unfamiliar with Camp Barnabas it is a camp in Southwest Missouri that is dedicated to children with mental and physical disabilities. At Camp Barnabas the disabilities disappear and they can be true kids at camp. The mood there is amazing. I am not sure I have witnessed anything like it. Free spirits, gorgeous scenery, yummy food, hilarious games and amazing friendships. We had the luxury of being escorted by Miss Lauren a former camper herself. Lauren and her desire to be a normal kid at camp was the inspiration for the camp in the first place. Let's just say we were among "Camp Royalty".

If you ever get the chance to take some time to be a part of this ... as a 'Party Person' you should. It is one of those things you will later describe as 'a life changing experience'.

Inside the Shoot

We are so excited for our readers to see the images we just finished shooting for the next issue of MetBride! We have what all the girls want: gowns, jewels, exotic florals, gorgeous make-up and we just may have a few more tricks up our sleeve. You will just have to wait and see.

We want to thank Bambi Cantrell for coming in from California to shoot the pics for the next issue of our magazine. Bambi has been named one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world. We are so grateful that she is able to share her talents with us at MetBride and you the readers. The images are amazing and will be coming out in the Summer issue of Metropolitan Bride. The next issue is scheduled to hit shelves June 2009. Stay tuned for more exact dates you will be able to get your copy at Barnes & Noble.

Metropolitan Reception Tour

We recently hosted a tour of Springfield's reception locations. Over one hundred people visited area venues to see them set and ready for a reception, sampled food and cake, listened to music and found the reception location of their dreams. This was the first of it's kind in this area and we plan on doing it twice a year, SO if you have not found your location yet... take the tour August 30th, 2009!
